 Gang of Youths made their grand return to the spotlight, headlining an epic residency at the Sydney Opera House. The band released their first new music in four years, unveiling the powerful new single “Things Take Time.” The track marks the beginning of the next chapter in the beloved band’s extraordinary journey and is available to stream here via Sony Australia / RCA / Arista. 

“Things Take Time” encompasses the passionate and cinematic sound that the band has become known for. Written by David Le’aupepe, Tom Hobden, Donnie Borzestowski and Jung Kim. Speaking about the single, the band explained the song is about “the endless loop of birth, growth, death and rebirth which encases all matter and energy.”

The recording features David Le’aupepe on vocals and piano, Tom Hobden on violin, Donnie Borzestowski on drums and Jung Kim on guitar and keyboards, with additional performances from Andrew Burgess (bass guitar), Nick Etwell (trumpet), Dave Williamson (trombone) and Klara Schumann (cello), adding further depth and orchestral richness to the track.

Over the past decade, Gang Of Youths have established themselves as one of the most celebrated and influential bands in the world. The band has toured internationally, playing arenas with Foo Fighters, Mumford and Sons and Sam Fender. They’ve performed at iconic festivals like All Points East, Austin City Limits, Splendour in the Grass, SXSW, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival and more. Their landmark album Go Farther In Lightness earned four ARIA awards including Album of the Year and their last album, angel in realtime. The band went on to perform on CBS Saturday Morning, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
